Computer Facilities

I.E. Shaffer & Co has its own data center located in West Trenton, NJ. An IBM i Power 720 server and several Intel based servers provide on-line/interactive capabilities to all users via our Ethernet Local Area Network (“LAN”). We also support several remote client locations through our virtual private network (“VPN”). Our data center is protected by a firewall that continuously monitors and logs network access and notifies staff of unauthorized login attempts. Vulnerability scanning is performed by an outside vendor to assure network and system integrity.

Our health claims processing software is licensed through IBM Genelco, located in St Louis, MO. All other iSeries based application software is developed and maintained by I.E. Shaffer & Co.’s in-house programming staff. The software used for our daily valuation system for participant directed investment plans is licensed from Schwab Retirement Technologies (“SRT”) of Charlotte, NC. This Intel based software includes participant account access through a telephone voice response unit and via the internet.
